Omelets are a filling breakfast dish that’s equally at home for dinner. The almost effortless preparation makes them ideal when you’re pressed for time, and their versatility makes them great for eating regularly and never getting bored. Indeed, you can use any omelet-worthy ingredients you have on hand, from sausage to spinach, bacon to bell peppers. We like the simplicity of this Mushroom and Egg White Omelet, though, because you can cook one for each person in just a few minutes. Cook all the mushrooms and scallions at once, then you need only cook the egg base. For a full meal, add a side of home fries or hash browns.
If eating a popsicle at breakfast seems out of the ordinary, know that this one hides several healthy breakfast ingredients: yogurt, fruit, and granola. Make a batch on the weekend, and pop one out each day for a tasty healthy snack to eat as you’re getting dressed. Make a “cup” at the base of the pop with a piece of aluminum foil large enough to catch up wayward drips.
My cousin the fitness trainer is a vegan and he orders my vegan baked goods all the time. I really like the recipe options you offered because I think many of the store-bought snacks are unhealthy. I prefer to make my own vegan crackers, chocolates, cookies, etc. I even make them sugar-free! That said, I’ll keep this site in mind whenever I need inspiration and ideas for my cousin’s vegan meals. Thanks!
Rule number one for sticking to a healthy snacking plan = don’t get bored. But before you get bogged down by the intimidation factor of coming up with creative healthy snack recipes, check out these 19 super simple mini meals. Every easy, delicious recipe here makes the grade in terms of nutrition, and we promise they’re a lot more imaginative than—snooze—a bowl of celery sticks.
You can put way more on popcorn than just butter and salt. Add cinnamon or apple pie spice for a sweet treat, or go spicy with hot sauce, wasabi, or curry. You can also give your snack an Italian flair with grated Parmesan and a dash of olive oil. Basically, anything in your spice rack can add more flavor without very many calories when you’re eating popcorn. For a dairy-free take on addictive spinach-artichoke dip, a purée of cooked cauliflower and raw cashews proves impressively effective as a creamy base. We blitz them in the food processor along with the cauliflower cooking liquid, then add flavor to the mixture with vegan mayonnaise (homemade or store-bought), nutritional yeast, mustard, garlic powder, and lemon juice. Add the artichokes and cooked spinach, pulse until combined, and it's ready to be baked until browned and bubbling.

What about evening snacking? The biggest problem with nighttime snacks is most of us reach for ice cream and chips-not fruit and yogurt. That's not to say you can't have a treat after dinner. Some of your favorite evening snacks may even be on this list (chocolate! popcorn!). One thing to note, if you're always hungry after dinner, make sure your meal is made up of filling and healthy foods and you're getting enough food. If all you're nibbling on is a lackluster salad you may legitimately be hungry and need an evening snack(see our best dinner foods for weight loss). If you love an evening snack after dinner, serve yourself a healthy portion onto a plate or bowl so you're not scooping straight from the container.
Beef Pemmican — Pemmican is a delicious paste of dried and pounded meat mixed with melted fat and other ingredients, originally made by North American Indians and later adapted by Arctic explorers. It is an undeniably delicious keto snack if you want something that is filling with hearty, beefy flavors. We recommend getting your pemmican from U.S. Wellness Meats. Opt for the Honey & Cherry-Free Beef Pemmican.

I saw this post and have been meaning to check it out! I tried the whole home-made gummy snacks awhile back with agar (although i used flakes so maybe that was my problem…it was all that i could find at the store…although i always forget about looking online ha!). So my problem was that they weren’t gummy enough so wasn’t quite a fan of the texture. Still ate them and flavor was delicious, but was looking for that gummy factor since thats what the kids always go for…are these gummy in texture? If so i’m ALL on top of it! They look gorgeous btw…and love your random facts haha! I hate autocorrect sometimes =)
Don’t forget the easiest, healthiest snack of all: raw fruits and vegetables. Keep a fridge full of fresh produce and you’ll automatically be prompted to snack well. A few of my favourites are frozen grapes, cucumbers, carrots, snap peas, apples, bananas and in the summer fresh berries. You can always pair with them nuts and seeds to make a more substantial snack.
Popcorn is high in fiber and even delivers a little protein. A 1-ounce serving (about 3 cups) of air-popped popcorn has 4 grams of fiber, almost 4 grams of protein and clocks in at 110 calories. This combination makes it a snack with staying power. Popcorn is actually a whole grain and 3 cups is a huge serving-especially when you compare it to other crunchy, salty snacks like chips. Many companies are making bagged popcorn, see our favorite healthy popcorn picks.
For this saucy Korean-style cauliflower snack, you can toss the golden-brown nuggets in either a sweet soy-garlic sauce or a sweet-and-spicy chili sauce, depending on your taste. The cauliflower florets' thin, shatteringly crisp crust is thanks to the same cornstarch, flour, and vodka batter we use for our Korean fried chicken—it's perfect for soaking up either sauce. We add sesame seeds and coconut flakes to the batter to give it a nice nuttiness and extra crunch. Leave out those ingredients, and your fried cauliflower is great for serving Buffalo-style.
To get them out of the molds I just run a knife along the edges and then tap the container upside down a few times on a table until it slides out. If it’s breaking, leaving it for another couple of hours in the fridge to make sure it’s really set will help though. You could also try slicing them in the molds and then popping them out one by one. Good luck!
This is one of my favourite quick snacks, that is if you bake the acorn squash ahead of time. I like to include one or two baked acorn squash in my weekly food prep so they’re ready for snacks and meals during the week. My favourite fillings are peanut butter, yogurt and granola but you can also fill them with savoury ingredients like hummus, guacamole, quinoa, black beans, any mixture of those or anything else you can think of.
